5 days Central Borneo and Orang Utan River Safari, Boating and Trekking

Day 01: Pangkalan Bun – Kumai – Camp Leakey – Boat House (L,D)
Meet & greet upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun airport. Transfer to Kumai which is a seaport and gateway to reach Tanjung Putting National Park. Travel for about 15 minutes crossing the Kumai River before entering Seikonyer River which is the main river in the National Park.
From here, we will proceed upstream for about 4 hours to Camp Leakey where you can see different type of vegetation from mangrove, Nipah Palam, pandanus and other type of trees.
Cruising in the black water, you might spot wild animals like the wild orang utan, macaque, proboscis monkey, many species of birds and wild crocodile.
Lunch will be served in the boat house. After lunch, we will witness orang utan feeding session and then back to the boat house where you will have your dinner and overnight

Day 02: Full day Camp Leakey ( B, L, D )
Black Water, • Breakfast in the boat house. Tanjung Putting National Park, Kalimantan, Indonesia, Borneo. Proceed upstream again for Camp Leakey area but this time we will trek on foot following a track left behind by Dr. Galdikas who is a famous primatologist when he did a research on
the wild orang utan of Borneo. Back to the boat house for lunch before proceeding to another feeding session in the afternoon. More time to explore and experience the jungle before going back to our boat house for dinner and overnight.

Day 03: Pondok Tanggui – Tanjung Harapan Village & Camp – Firefly ( B, L, D )
After breakfast in the boat house, we will proceed to Pondok Tanggui rehabilitation centre where you can see a lot of baby and juvenile Orang Utan being saved from the logging activities being rehabilitated for release to the wild. The journey will take around two hours. Then we will proceed to Tanjung Harapan Village where you can see Indonesian Malay settlement at the entrance of the national park.
Lunch will be taken enroute in the boat house. At around 1500 hrs, we will reach First Camp Tanjung Harapan to witness the last Orang Utan feeding session Later, we will go back to our boat house and continue down stream to the Nipah area Orang Utan, where we can witness the glittering lights of the firefly in the night Tanjung Putting National Park,

Day 04: Trekking from Pondok Tangguy to Pasalat Camp & Camping ( B, L, D)
After breakfast, we will cruise up river to Pondok Tanggui where we will continue by trekking on foot and we will have some help from the local villagers of Tanjung Harapan to carry all our equipments
We will be passing some pit swamp forest, dry land, secondary and primary forest Wild animal sighting probability is high especially different species of Borneo birds, Orang Utan, gibbon, deer are just to mention a few. This is a good chance for you to know the natural habitat of the wild orang utan of Borneo
We will have lunch enroute and expected to reach Pasalat Camping Ground where we will set out tents for overnight
Dinner and overnight

Day 05 : Pasalat Camp – cruise to Kumai – Pangkalan Bun Airport ( B )
After breakfast, trek back to our boat house and proceed down stream to Kumai and proceed to Pangkalan Bun airport

• Houseboat during the river trip.
• Full board meals during the trip.
• Accommodation (twin share) at Rimba Lodge (as per program).
• Pick up service at Pangkalan Bun airport.

Note :
• 8 persons up would use two houseboats (overnight on boat).
• 10 persons up would use 2 boats (overnight in the Lodge).

What to bring :
Travel bag, rain coat, suntan lotion, hat, T-Shirt, paddling/beach sandals, comfortable walking/trekking shoes with
extra socks, binocular, flash light with extra bulb and batteries, Camera + extra films, towels, personal medicine, for
souvenirs and other personal expenses please bring some Indonesian Rupiahs.
